Overhead press

For the overhead press exercise, you must set a bar up in a squat rack. Also, you can cage and grasp the bar just outside shoulder width. Take the bar off the rack. Hold the bar at shoulder level while keeping your forearms perpendicular to the floor. Squeeze the bar tightly and brace your abdomen. Press the bar overhead while pushing your head forward. Shrug your traps as the bar passes your face. Do 5 sets of 5 reps each, with a 1-minute rest period between the sets.

Set up in a squat rack. Grasp the bar far apart and step under it. Squeeze your shoulders together and get the bar out of the rack. Take a step back, and stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Hold your toes slightly outward. Bend your hips back, and then bend the knees to lower your body. Go as far as you can without losing the arch in the lower back. As you descent, push your knees outward. To come back up, extend your hips, and continue to push your knees outward. Do 5 sets of 5 reps each, and take 2-minute breaks between the sets.
